Getting ready for the exoskeleton I get to use for therapy this fall – I’ll be a walking robot.

Exoskeletons are only designed for paraplegics not quadriplegics (like me) meaning you need to have your core – something I do not have. However, I know if I work my butt off between now and October I’ll be strong enough to do it. Tell me I can’t do something and it’ll just make me want to prove you wrong.

With having a spinal cord injury comes multiple secondary complications. The biggest for me being low blood pressure and poor circulation – meaning I get dizzy quite often and especially when I’m standing. In order to do the exoskeleton this fall I need to be able to stand for an hour without getting dizzy. This is challenging for me but definitely motivating. I’m determined to get in those robotic legs and take my first steps in over four years.
